Hey everyone, we hope you all enjoyed your summer! Our team has had our hands full with some really amazing remote projects over the last few months. We are all excited to begin our projects for the fall and winter season and kick off the home renovation season.
As the weather gets cooler, we will be taking our working hands inside to complete some beautiful home renovations. There is no better time to complete your indoor renovations than over the next few months and into the winter! That’s why this month we’re going to be diving into the best home renovations to complete during the fall and winter season for this month’s blog.
From kitchens and bathrooms to basements and flooring, we will show you the best ways to future-proof your home. Additionally, we will show you how a simple renovation will upgrade the look of your home while also increasing its value and maximizing its sustainability.
So, let’s dive in!
BATHROOM RENOVATIONS
There’s nothing more satisfying than renovating a bathroom. From custom cabinetry to new tiling, and even transforming your shower, there are so many options to consider.
This year, there are many trends for bathrooms, such as automatic fan timers, illuminated dimmable anti-fog makeup mirrors, rain showers, temperature control, aromatherapy, and more!
Besides the look of your bathroom, renovating it has psychological and physical benefits as well, to give that fresh new feeling which can go a long way.
We love bathroom renovations because we can make any vision come to life, no matter how complex; give us a call, and we’ll get the job done!
KITCHEN
Fall/winter is the season to start your kitchen renovation!
This year we’ve seen numerous trends in kitchens, but the staples moving into the last quarter of the year are creating simple, welcoming kitchens that have clean designs and allow you to connect to the outdoors.
With the custom builds we’ve done this year, there’s been a big demand for coffee/beverage stations, “wrap-around” islands that incorporate an island and table together and introduces wrap-around seating, layered ambient lighting underneath cabinets, island seating, etc., and last but not least, induction cooktops have been making a comeback due to the fact gas stove tops have been said to put children at risk for childhood asthma.
These are trends, however, so if your vision goes beyond those, then no worries, we’re here to make it happen!
FINISHING THE BASEMENT
You know that unfinished basement you keep walking into? Yeah, the one that you say you’re going to get to eventually? Well, now is the time to do it, and we’re here to help.
Here are some of the most beneficial basement renovations to utilize that extra space downstairs:
- Bold accent walls to add a pop of colour to your space.
- Creative storage spaces such as under the stairs or compartments within the walls.
- Smart home integration that you can put into a home theater room, gym, recreation room, or even a bar lounge.
- Wine rooms have become increasingly popular and will always lead to compliments.
- Open concept space to create a feeling of spaciousness and multifunctionality.
Below is an example of an accent wall we did for a client, and they’re pretty happy about the result! For anything basement-related, give our team a call, and we’ll make your vision come true.
REDO THE FLOORING
Flooring can give your space an entirely different look and feel, which is why it’s no surprise that it’s one of the most popular things to redo in the fall/winter.
We’ve installed every type of flooring that you can imagine, from colourful tiles to luxury vinyl, hybrid flooring, terrazzo, and much much more.
The best type of flooring really depends on your situation. If you have kids or pets, the floor might take a bit of a beating, so things like vinyl, laminate, or wood flooring could be great options as they’re kid/pet-friendly and will look gorgeous.
If you’re in the market for something more luxurious, then we recommend Brazilian Walnut, Mahogany, marble, porcelain tile, or even natural wool fiber carpet. Regardless, you can never go wrong with a floor renovation!
This concludes our blog for September. We hope that we were able to give you the inspiration that you need to finish the renovation for your home this fall and winter.
With over 40 years of experience helping homeowners with their renovations and custom builds, we’re the team to hire to ensure the job gets done properly.
